Construction began on November 30, 2009 on the Springville portion of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District’s Spanish Fork Provo Reservoir Canal Pipeline. Beginning at 4th East and Highway 89 the project will run along 4th East in Springville eventually returning to Highway 89 before ending in Provo at the junction of State Road (Highway 89) and Slate Canyon Drive.

The project is scheduled to be completed by November 30, 2010. The contractor is COP Construction under the direction of the Central Utah Water Conservancy District and Springville City.

The Spanish Fork Provo Reservoir Canal Pipeline is part of the Utah Lake Drainage Basin Water Delivery System (ULS) and is the final component of the Bonneville Unit of the Central Utah Project.

Its purpose is to develop, convey and deliver the remaining Bonneville Unit water supply for municipal and industrial uses and temporary agricultural supply along the Wasatch Front by delivering an average annual 101,900 acre-feet of water from Strawberry Reservoir to the Wasatch Front.
